Design and Exterior
The 2025 Macan EV is powered by a 100 kWh battery pack (95 kWh usable capacity), utilizing advanced 800-volt architecture similar to that found in the Porsche Taycan. This high-voltage system allows for thinner, lighter wiring, contributing to improved overall efficiency and performance.
EPA-estimated range varies by model:
- Base and Macan 4: Approximately 308 miles
- Macan 4S and Turbo: Around 288 miles
It’s worth noting that the all-wheel-drive Macan 4 achieves a slightly longer range than the rear-wheel-drive base model thanks to its ability to recapture more energy during deceleration.
Charging Capabilities
One of the Macan EV’s standout features is its impressive charging speed. With a maximum DC fast-charging rate of 270 kW, the Macan can replenish its battery from 10% to 80% in just 21 minutes when connected to a compatible high-power charger. This rapid charging capability significantly reduces downtime during long trips.
For added convenience, the Macan EV is equipped with charging ports on both sides of the vehicle. Home charging is supported at up to 11 kW AC, allowing for overnight charging using a Level 2 charger.
Interior and Technology
The Macan EV’s interior represents a significant upgrade over its gasoline-powered sibling, featuring a more spacious and technologically advanced cabin. The flat floor design, made possible by the electric powertrain, contributes to increased passenger and cargo space.
A 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.9-inch central touchscreen infotainment system dominate the dashboard. An optional 10.9-inch passenger display is available, capable of playing video content while the vehicle is in motion. The head-up display incorporates augmented reality features, overlaying navigation instructions, and other relevant information onto the driver’s view of the road.
Porsche’s commitment to quality is evident in the premium materials used throughout the cabin, including high-grade leather, brushed aluminum, and carbon fiber accents. The ambient lighting system allows for personalization of the interior atmosphere.
